Despite the challenges of the war, in the structure of milk sent for processing from industrial dairy farms, the share of raw materials of the “extra” variety continues to grow, as evidenced by the preliminary results of the Dezhstat of Ukraine for 2023, says the analyst of the Association of Milk Producers Heorhiy Kukhaleishvili.
Despite the fact that during the two years of the full-scale invasion of Russia, dairy farms are facing problems with electricity supply, lack of veterinary drugs and disinfectants, especially in the front-line areas, indicators of safety and quality of milk supplied for processing are improving.
It is the extra grade that is accepted the most — 49% in the overall structure, which is 8% more compared to the results of 2022. The share of the highest grade in processing decreased to 25% (-4%), and the first grade to 24% (-5%). The share of the second grade in the structure of milk processing did not change and remained at the level of 3%. Last year, less than 1% of non-grade milk (about 500 kg) was processed.
