Fast, bloodless and effective treatment of pathology
- Place the animal on its right side without the use of muscle relaxants on a straw mat.
- After fixing the limbs and head of the cow in the dorsal position, the doctor sits on the belly of the animal in front of the udder.
- A phonendoscope or a stethoscope is used to clarify the location of the abomasum filled with gases in the area 10-15 cm below the xiphoid process of the sternum, 5-10 cm to the right of the medial line, in the direction of the milk vein.
- After disinfection with iodine solution, two short previous cuts are made on the skin of the abdominal wall at a distance of 4 cm from each other to facilitate punctures, fearing damage to the milk vein.
- Puncture of the abdominal cavity is done with a thin trocar for MRS, the accuracy of the penetration is controlled by the restraining discharge of gases through the trocar tube.
- A homemade fixator (2.5 cm piece of polystyrene insemination catheter with a hole drilled in the middle. Two silk threads 30 cm long are fixed in the hole) is inserted through the trocar tube using a mandrel into the abomasum.
- The trocar tube is removed from the opening of the abdominal wall, the retainer remains in the abomasum.
- The first retainer is pulled by the threads, holding the abomasum, after which another similar puncture is made next to the first, through which the same retainer is inserted.
- After the second puncture, gases from the abomasum are maximally released through the trocar tube.
- The threads of the retainers are tied together above the skin surface at a distance of four fingers of the hand, a piece of a roll of gauze bandage is fixed to the thread knot from below.
- Wounds are treated with Iodine Tincture 5%, Chemi-spray, Terramycin-spray.
- The cow is freed from the restraints, raised to its feet through the right side.
- After fixing in a headlock or kantarka, 20-30 l of water with 400-500 ml of DK Feed soft, liquid propylene glycol is poured into the support of the postoperative cow using a feeding tube.
- Antibiotic therapy with Amoxicillin (Amoxicillin, Avimox, Biocillin, Klamoxil, Sinulox LA) intramuscularly for three days in a row to relieve inflammation of the abomasum and prevent ascites.
- Stitches are removed 7-10 days after surgery.
